Oh My Goodness! Look at this! It only took some gentle
coaxing and a cattle prod to get me to update this webpage.
Let's get to it, then.
Seven years and running.....Whew! No guidebook, no blueprints
and no outside help. There have been many alterations to the
group's structure. After the first year, our membership number
has fluctuated between 80 and 120. We've had some changes to
the "rules" and procedures. As the years pass, I'm sure that
we will continue to fiddle with how we get things done. But, we do
get them done!
This year is filled with events designed to be entertaining,
affordable, and diversified. Even though the Round Table
members implement the events, we are always aware that the Table is
trying to carry out the wishes of the entire group. We would
really like to hear from all Tea Tarts as to your ideas, desires and
concerns. I sincerely want to hear everyone's input! Our
monthly get-togethers at Panera have been wonderfully positive.
They have given us a chance to just chat. (What do women like
better than that?) Best of all, this is our time to hang out
in a very informal setting and get to know each other better -
something that cannot always happen at an event. If you
haven't joined us yet, give it a go some Thursday.
It seems just the other day that it was 2002. The Tea Tarts
were a new "experimental" Red Hat group and I was thin* and in my
50's. What the heck happened? Oh yeah, Father Time...And
he has been a good companion to us. We have learned about each
other. We have participated in each others' lives. We
have spent time together. We have gone through many challenges
and milestones that come with age. We have cried and been
unhappy. We have laughed and been in high spirits. We
have cared about each other. We are friends...who happen to
wear red hats.
