TEA TART GUIDELINES/INFO

In keeping with the Red Hat spirit, we would like to avoid "rules",  but "guidelines" are here to help us help each other.

Attire - All events require red hat and purple clothes unless otherwise indicated for that event.  It will be noted whether dressy or casual red hat.   Also some of you might not know this but if it is your birth month, you may wear opposite.  Red clothes and purple hat!

Chapter Chatter - Please check out the updated news of our members on the Chapter Chatter page of the website.  News of any kind will be posted there so please check there often. We will update it as often as we hear of anything so please do let Jan know of news concerning you and/or our Tea Tart friends.  Posts will be changed every 30 days.  It would be appreciated if you'd keep us informed.

Checks:  Please do not make checks payable to Jan Gaulin.  Make them payable to Tea Tarts of Sterling Heights.  Also, there is no need to send separate checks for each event.  They may all be included on one check.  Just be sure to indicate on the check or a separate note which event they are for.  If you are paying for 2 or more, be sure to indicate who the other person(s) are.

Email Address changed?  - Please let Jan know as soon as that happens so that we can ensure you continue to receive the updates and news.

Event Payment Policy - Deadline dates are also "No Refund" dates.  We book the event.  We call in the number and we are obligated to pay for what we call in.  Deadlines are there for a reason.  99.9% of you are handling this great actually!  But we still have .1% who need a little reminder.  THIS IS A REMINDER!!!!  Send your payment in prior to the deadline, not a day or 2 later!   Thanks so much to the majority of you who understand.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

If you find you cannot attend an event and it's past the refund date, please DO LET JAN KNOW you will not be attending.  There may be a waiting list from time to time and others would appreciate it.

Guest Policy - Who can attend our events?  - If they say for Tea Tarts only, this means we have not opened it to other chapters.  If you would like to bring a friend, you can to most but, if they come more than twice, they will be expected to join at membership time.  The only exception we can think of at the moment is our annual anniversary party.  That one is definitely MEMBERS ONLY.  The only thing we ask is if someone who is not a member pays for an event, they let Jan know which Tea Tart they will be accompanying to that event.

Members Only - We have updated the Roster and put it in the Members Only Section on the website.   Now - The password has been changed.  As a Tea Tart, you are obligated not to give this password to anyone who is not a Tea Tart.   And please do mark it down in a safe place for your future reference.   When you click on "Members Only" on the left menu of the home page, you will be asked for an ID and Password.

The Roster has a first page (the cover).   Please read the cover sheet on the roster very carefully and stick to the rules given there.  In short, our roster is confidential to members only and is not to be used for solicitation of ANY KIND including using it to send out jokes to the mass.  It's common sense and respectful to always ask permission first if someone wishes to get your jokes forwarded to them.  A rule of thumb (and a rule of the Tea Tarts).  DON'T DO IT!    Also, be sure to shred any old versions of the roster for the protection of our members.  Once in awhile, some of you forget this rule.  Don't!!!

Name Badges, Tea Tart Pins - You must wear these two items to all events or pay a $1 fine.  We will have someone checking and collecting!   We've put a great deal of effort and time into providing these items for you and we are proud of who we are.  If you are in need of a replacement or want to order extras, please do let us know by filling out the form found on "How to Join" page and including a check for $8 each payable to Tea Tarts of Sterling Heights.

Photos - If, at any time, you would like to have your photo retaken, please do let us know at the next event you attend.  We will do oury best to accommodate you.  This applies to both new members and renewed members.  Also a note - we don't think some of you know that, in addition to on the roster, your photo's also may be viewed from the Scrapbook page by clicking on the silhouettes at the top.  That is where all the cute info about your favorite color, etc. is also posted.

Scrapbook - Photo's of every event are posted here.  Just click on the name of the event which is a link to those photos.  It will take you to Kodak Gallery.  Click on Slideshow to view.  You can even now set up the speed at which you'd like them to change.  Kodak Gallery is site that allows us to upload photo's into albums free.  All they ask is that we make one small purchase each year.  We've been using this site for a very long time.  You may sign up for free membership at Kodak Gallery so that you may be able to order some of the photo's taken and pay for them from your own account.

Titles? -  We STILL have  members without official Red Hat Titles.  Please put your thinking caps on and email Jan as soon as you can think of one.  Ask your friends to help.  I'm sure they will come up with something that fits!  That goes for "old" members without a title as well as "new" members.  Please note in some cases, we have simply called you "lady" whatever your first names it.  - That is not "Official!"  Red Hat Titles are now mandatory going into the new year.

Website - It has come to our attention that sometimes you are not seeing the entire page.  That problem has been figured out.  It's when you are viewing the site in any other browser such as Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, etc.  The Tea Tart website is Best Viewed in Microsoft Explorer which most of you have.  If you don't know what you have, it probably is already Explorer.  The ladies who are techies know about the others!
